Dans i Nord presenterar danskonstnärerna Astrid Boons och Pascal Marty med världspremiär under DANSFESTEN 2018!
DANSFESTENs tema 2018 är ”Kvinnliga koreografer Då och Nu” och Astrid Boons skapar ett dansstycke med nyskriven musik till dansaren Pascal Marty, vilket inleder årets Dansfest i Piteå.
Publiken kommer att kunna följa utvecklingen från kreationsstarten i augusti till premiären av det nya dansverket under öppna repetitioner med publiksamtal och under DANSFESTENs öppningshelg.
Pascal Marty kommer dessutom att medverka under Beyond Words-turnén som är namnet på Dans i Nords turné till Norrbottens samtliga kommuner och som förutom själva dansföreställningen, samverkar med det lokala danslivet, skolan och civilsamhället genom olika möten, workshops, popuppdans med mera.
Astrid Boons, choreographer
Astrid Boons was born in Antwerp, Belgium and recieved her education at the Royal Ballet School in Antwerp and Codarts in Rotterdam. Astrid was a dancer with The Nederlands Danstheatre and Göteborgsoperans Danskompani among others and is a guestdancer with Tanztheatre Wuppertal Pina Bausch.
Astrid has worked with choreographers as Saburu Teshigawara, Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Johan Inger among others. She started to choreograph in 2014 and her first work Alina was selected as one of the finalist works for the International Competition for choreographers in Hannover.
In 2016 Astrid created the duet Rhizoma as she recieved the BNG Bank Dansprijs and Pikets Kunstprijs for emerging talang in the Nederlands. Her latest work Vestige was premiered in the fall of 2017 and was shortlisted as one of the top 5 performances of 2017 in the newspaper Het Parool.
Pascal Marty, dancer
Pascal Marty comes from Fanjeaux, a small village in the South of France and started Dancing when he was 16 years old. Pascal was educated at the Conservatory of Monpellier in contemporary dance and graduated within two years.
After his education he was working with the Ballet Junior de Genève in productions by Alexander Ekman, Itzik Galilei, Stijn Celis among others. His been a dancer in Staatstheater in Saarbrücken and Göteborgs Danskompani where he worked in productions by Marguerite Donlon, Alan Lucien Oyen , Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Sharon Eyal, Saburo Teshigawara among others.
Pascal also has choreographed for the company and is now guesting in companies across the world as Karas Apparatus/Saburo Teshigawara in Japan, Lewis Major Projects in Australien and Dans i Nord in Norrbotten/Sweden.
